Here is a place to get an online or telephone quote. Cool info about overseas 419 motorcycle scams as well.

Re: shipping.......

I'm looking into shipping a bike from TN to CA. Does anyone have any input from doing this sort of thing before?
From what I've seen so far ForwardAir is the cheapest, but you have to drain the tank, disconnect the battery, and it has to be delivered and picked up from their terminals which are usually located at major airports. Cost: $549
The quotes I've gotten from the door to door services have ranged from $650 to $800 so far with no crating or prep necessary.

Here's a list of links I've found so far...

www.forwardair.com

www.motorcycleshippers.com

http://www.haulbikes.com/haulbikes.html

http://www.1aamotorcycles.com/

http://www.eagleoneexpress.com

http://www.funtransport.com/

Re: shipping.......

I just shipped a motorcycle to Utah from Ohio with forward air. Its great because they have steel motorcycle crates that is included in the shipping cost. All you have to do is buy tie downs and a couple padlocks.

I recommend them.

Re: shipping.......

Just got an email from www.eagleoneexpress.com....

"Shipping would be $545 plus a temp fuel surcharge of $45 (due to the high cost of fuel), that would be door to door as close as we can get with a large semi truck, fully insured, enclosed, air ride trailer. All we transport are motorcycles and no prep needed to bike. We can p/u and del. in Dec. Let us know if we can help."

A little more than forward air, but they're the leader in my book right now because of convenience and specialization.

Re: shipping.......

I used www.motorcycleshippers.com to ship my Raptor from AZ to NH, cost $580 and it arrived as it left, in mint condidtion. They came to my house and loaded it up, then delivered it to my friends house. Door to door service . I would reccommend them.

I've learned the hard way that if you want something done right, rent a u-haul and do it yourself, well that is if you are as insanely anal of your vehicles as I am.

Re: shipping.......

i had my bike shipped from mass to CA, came out to around $800, due to the fact that i had specific dates where i needed it there by, no exceptions...you'll pay a premium if you're on any kind of schedule

otherwise, i'd say forwardair is the best way to go, for all the reasons mentioned above

Re: shipping.......

I've never heard a bad thing about forward air.
but best and most fun would be flying out there and ride it back

Forward Air can ship a bike from coast to coast in 4 days.

Re: shipping.......

Here's one I have used:

FreightCenter - Motorcycle Shipping

They were really easy to use and had a good price. I would use them again.
