Is the crest open to wrightwood now??? Was closed a couple of weeks ago. Oh here is a list of trailer places in SOCAL.... California - Horse and Livestock Trailer Dealers indexed by City + County - A to Z He either got it out of the Acton place (which is my bet) or he came all the way up here to Palmdale. Move next to a track. Don't need a trailer then. |

Re: Recommendations on open trailers?
I bought mine arouns 2001, I think it was $1100 or $1300. Cant do Saturday..."the man" is making me work
![]() FYI, I think the crests is still closed before Wrightwood, you have to go the back way...hang a left on AFH, right on Mt. Emma, and parallel the 138 up the backside. There is driving directions on the Cal Sportbike web site. Mike Quote:

Re: Recommendations on open trailers?
I wish I would have known you were looking at trailer types while you were here. I have one of the folding Harbor Freight 5x8s. With a little modification, they do okay. Not so good for two bikes, but works fine for one. 12" tires with high quality wheel bearing grease has no problems if maintained properly. Mine was in the blockhouse with the school Quad on it.

Re: Recommendations on open trailers?
Here's my Harbor freight... it started out as a 4'x8', but we took out all the crossmembers, extended them and the axle to a 6'x8' to fit two bikes. Works nice for the 300 bucks, plus you never need a ramp, it swivels at the tongue to drop the rear of the trailor to the ground.

Re: Recommendations on open trailers?
Nice work. I have one of those trailers, and with two small Kawasakis, it's tight..
Make sure that what ever is in the "tilt pin" spot fits tightly; its squirms around in this area a lot while under-way. |
