And when I'm away from my truck/trailer out on the trail or track, I'd like for there to be a bit of a deterrent from theft.

Just get some old bubble-gum. Once that stuff hardens it'll be there forever.
In fact, I think I still have some on one of my shoes.

I recently got me a Sport Chock and I figured I could mount it with a trip to the hardware store...then I just ordered the mounting kit along with the chock.

Too busy or too lazy to mess with it.

That's the method I use, but with only one tiedown pulling towards the front. I loop it around the lower triple clamp to keep the bike from swaying side to side. Tacoma composite bed floors have a lot of flex in them!
