Threadjack, coming up...

Ninerpilot, it looks like you cut your fender on your 929 as I did. If so, where did you remount your trunk-lock?

Re: I'm officially 'tied down'

Has anyone seen these ramps from Sears? *They're sold in pairs (for lawn tractors) for $130. *The website has no useful info about them (length, etc), so I'm gonna see if the local store has some.

The ramps Sears sells are the Ohio Steel made ramps I've been talking about in my past ramp threads. Same darned thing. Sears sells both the steel and aluminum models. I prefer the lighter and sufficiently strong aluminum variant.

Chain : The vinyl coated steel hooks on my tie downs are quite secure, and the warning information that came with my soft hooks suggests that they aren't guaranteed against cutting should they be looped around anything other than a smooth surface (like the engine mounts for instance).
I assume your talking about the nylon part of the tiedown right Chain? As a circumsised I mean certified rigger I can tell you that no nylon chocker, pretty damn close to a tiedown, is guaranteed against cutting. In fact if you put the nylon against anything sharp you will experience a cut. But that my law enforcing friend is what a softener is for. Put a rag, peice of cardboard, or something similar in between the nylon and sharp edge. When placed properly it will help guard the nylon from getting cut. Firehose type material does a great job. Just an FYI thing if you.
