Just picked up a pair myself...

I also hate the dancer, as I've had the same experience as everyone else. Then I started safety wiring my grips and now it works fine.

The Cycle Cinch won't twist up your grips. Plus it puts the D-ring right at the grip level. I don't know about y'all, but having 12" of excess Canyon Dancer hanging down made it difficult to get the tie downs in and tensioned.

ditto... even havin the strap installed correctly and not overtighten my throttle grip always got pulled up against the kill switch housing causing it to not release ... and it took alot of force to pull the damn thing back off of it... so I finally figured until I found a better way to tie the bikes down I'd wrap something between the rubber grip and the kill switch.. therefore preventing the rubber grip from getting pulled up against it so far it's workin.. but the issue of the excess strap is stilla pain in the toosh... BUT it sure does keep the bike secure!

I wish they had a better image of how that Cycle Cinch looks on the bars -both ends... I'd be interested in getting one of those and retiring the Canyon Dancer....

I haven't tried it but I've seen a few do it.... and was curious why a couple of ya'll cringed at the though of using a rear stand while haulin a bike?

Canyon Dancers still suck.

Soft straps, D-Straps tie downs (which integrate the soft hook) or a Baxley are what I recommend.

almost got my hands on one similar (track runners and all) just a couple days ago for $1950... couldn't believe it... I went to the bank came back with cash ... only to find out that some old cogger beat me by half a day and that he promised to come back with the money tomorrow... I asked the fella how well ya know the guy? that I was there with money in hand and willin to take it right then and there but unfortunetly I knew him well enough that he had to hold out for him to come through the next day... driven home and look to see if it was still there and nope gone... cock sucker oh well.. just means I gotta keep lookin.....

ok reckon I should have made it more clear what I wanted to see.... I wanted the pic to show both sides so I could see how the length was adjusted from grip to grip... obviously not all bikes have the same spread... and from the looks of it coiled up didnt' appear to have any adjustment to it

If I had a heavy duty sewing machine I'd sew the ends shut on the canyon dancers sleeves this way the tension would pull on the entire bar end and all not just the rubber grip...

You can see more details on the installation pages on Cycle Cynch.com. The distance of the cross strap is set by a cam buckle on the right side. There is enough length on the cross strap to feed back through the left loop. The key design of the Cycle Cynch is that the cross strap is a fail safe mechanism. It does not require any tension on it for normal use. It's there in case the grips on race bikes start to slide off the tube because they don't run bar end weights. Plus, you want the loop to lay flat all the way across the grip during installation and use. This helps distribute the pull tension of the tie down so it doesn't focus on one small spot on your grips, which could potentially cause damage to them.

Thanks Marc... it sure did.. it appears that this would be far better than the typical CD that pulls crosswise which forces the grip to bunch up NOT TO MENTION... less excess strap to worry about so that your tiedown ain't way too long LOL.. which I was just about to cut mine down shorter to all me to continue to use teh CD till I found something better
