Re: Motorcycle Oil Filter Cross Reference

I've been using SuperTech 6607's for a couple of years with no problems. At only $2.33 it's hard to beat.

I use K&N, they have a nut welded on the end. It makes removal a breeze. I think they run about $12...

Re: Motorcycle Oil Filter Cross Reference

I found that article years ago and TOTALLY love it. I use the SuperTech 6607 now instead of the 7713 as my 954 has headers right in the way of a longer oil filter (which the 7713 is). In fact, if you look at the stamping of the Bosch filter M1-108 and the ST6607, you will notice they are very similar. Too similar to spend the extra $8 for the Bosch. I personally have used the ST6607, ST7713, Fram 6017A, Fram 7713, and Purolator PureOne 14612 (or whatever the filter number is) and have not experienced any leaks, gasket issues, or any valve problems whatsoever in 45xxx miles on my 01 F4i. I now have the PureOne filter on my 954 and it threads perfectly. Well worth the $6 at PepBoys.

Yep. Fram motorcycle and Fram automotive is identical except the price and the box they put it in.

Not that I'm a big proponent of Fram... But I like the Fram with the grip on the casing; makes it super easy to take the filter off.

Re: Motorcycle Oil Filter Cross Reference

Not to dog Fram myself, but I've never had any problems with Fram. Go figure..
