Re: tool kit?

My 2004 919 came with 2 box end spanners, 2 double headed spanners, one allen wrench, one spark plug socket, a pair of pliers (worst pliers ever, they blow goats), rear suspension adjuster wrench, one handle for previous wrench, one handy 2 into 1 screw driver (phillips one end, flat-head the other), a helmet strap, and finally one 8mm open ended spanner. 13 pieces total and a major PITA to try to jam it all into the tiny little purple bag they give you.

It's a Honda, you don't need a toolkit.

True... almost. Still need to adjust the chain and change the oil... Oh, and being able to adjust the front and rear suspension would be nice. All of this can be done for about 15 bucks, so I can see why they skimped. 15 bucks times 10,000 units... well. Just a little niggle is all. Ride safe.

Re: tool kit?

The toolkit was really only good if you were away from home. If you were at home, did you ever use the toolkit?

Re: tool kit?

You know...when I think about it, my cars never came with a tool kit, only a jack. Maybe Honda has decided to do what is standard for the Civic.

Re: tool kit?

So where is the stand then?

The truth is, most people never used it. So rather than charge for something that most don't use, why not just remove it? It also helped the wet weight of the '08 RR.

Re: tool kit?

You can purchase the stock tool kits from cyclepartsnation.com. Just select your bike and in the drop down list select tools. I don't guess the price is too bad, if it's something you want. Link below.

Cycle Parts Nation | Arctic Cat OEM Parts | Can-Am (Bombardier) OEM Parts | Honda OEM Parts | Honda Marine OEM Parts | Honda Power Equipment OEM Parts | Kawasaki OEM Parts | Sea-Doo OEM Parts | Ski-Doo OEM Parts | Suzuki OEM Parts | Yamaha OEM Parts
