I've seen some ama board members using those at cornerspeed track events and a few even swear by them...

Just check yours against a tire vendor and you should be fine.

Re: I need a GOOD tire pressure gauge

Note: liquid filled gauges dont like cold temps. I love the measurement and functionality of the quicktire gauge, but my accugage has rocked since day 1. Quicktire is a 0-40 (dirt gauge) and accugage is 0-60 for the street/cars.

Re: I need a GOOD tire guage

Accugage- be cvery carful with vibration in addition to dropps killed to of the expensive one that way they were 6 or more pounds off. The only gauge I would put in the back of a bike is one of the old school pin style ones. Campbell Hausfeld maks a very good digital one though you would never guess from the looks spot on with the tire guy even though less than 10 dollers.

Re: I need a GOOD tire pressure gauge

I'm just wondering why no one has ordered from QuickCar directly? That is where I got mine many moons ago, and its cheaper?

Yes, but I was also with Google

Lest ye ferget the rules of the internet:

-1- check fireblades.org
-2- check google, then follow their link to fireblades.org
-3- check some other site like yahoo maybe? but odds are if its not on the first two - you don't need it anyways.

A friend of mine was using his at the track and asked the same thing. We compared it to my Meisner Accu-Gage that I just had re-calibrated from the manufacturer (dropped it, see footnote below)I also double checked my accu-gage with the Pirelli guy at a CCS event just in case after getting it back from Meisner. Regardless my gauge was dead on and so was his Accutire digital gauge. So I think you're fine. Handy little things, thinking about picking one up as a spare

Note about Meisner customer service:

After dropping my accu-gage and noticing it was out of wack I sent it in to Meisner along with $3 for return shipping. I wanted to see if that "lifetime warranty" meant anything. Not only did they re-calibrate it and get it back to me in a very timely manner (3 days from the day I sent it in) but they also installed a rubber housing around it! Very nice, pleasant surprise and I'm happy I bought that gauge years ago.

Yet another note regarding air pressure gauges in general:

I called street and competition a few weeks ago when I noticed a friend of mine was using one of those liquid filled gauges and he told me to give them a ring if I wanted one. Forgot who I spoke with at S&C but he recommended buying the 60psi gauge because he said "air gauges are most accurate at their half way point". Since most tires pressure recommendations are in the 30psi range, the 60psi models seem the way to go. My accu-gage is 60psi and minus the time I dropped it, has been extremely accurate for over 5 years. Of course I'm sure the 40 psi model is just fine as well, kind of splitting hairs.

As far as the liquid filled gauges go, the info I got (also from street & comp) was that they tend to take a fair amount of abuse (drops, etc.) and keep their accuracy. Not as delicate as the standard, non liquid models/styles of air gauges.

The guages mentioned in thid shread are all good for the street, the reason I titled it "..... for the track" is we need 1/2 lb incriments, and the street can be off a little.

Depends on the specific tire, brand & model. It varies depending on who you ask and what type of riding you do but generally, for street riding, it's somewhere around 32 front and 34 rear.

Working nights this week? 10AM is too early to be drinking, unless you're celebrating being able to go to Fb.O days, then it's okay.
