New Stand Question

Ok I'm in the market to get a new set of stand. I already have a LP racing for the rear. But my question is when looking for a new one should I go with one that uses the steerinf stem for an attachment point. Or go with one that uses the lower part of the fork as an attachment point.
Looking for the Pros and Cons of each.

I went with the Vortex brand front stand...works great with my 1000RR..have the rear Vortex stand also...both are excellent products...on par with Pitbull or even better!
