Ramps? I got a set of Ohio Steel aluminum ramps from Sears. They serve double duty for the riding mower. http://ohiosteel.com/ramp.html Note: I had the tops of my ramps sprayed with Rhino Lining because I cut the front tire when I locked the brake on my FZ1 while loading it last year. The RL is slippery and, had to do over again, I'd spray Line-X on it instead. Just know that the star shaped cut-outs on the ramp face are sharp and will ruin your rubber if you don't have a buddy to help you load the bike and you inadvertently lock the brake.

And I would stop with the Canyon Dancer and strap the bike as it says to do so in the chock's OM.

Re: Baxley Sport Chock review
This product sounds like it was sent from the gods!! I'll have to check it out.
The more pictures I see with Chain and his bikes and that pretty Corvette in the background, the more I think this fine LEO owns that Vette......... |

Re: Baxley Sport Chock review
Mine took less than a week and just showed up.
When I went to the track over this past weekend, it was the first time I had a chance to use it for transport and for quick and easy in and outs in the paddock. It worked great in every way. Several people at the track wanted one after seeing mine. The only downside is that with the chock in the back of my '05 F-150, I can no longer close the tailgate as the bed is just too short. Angling the rear of the bike puts it into a weird angle that I just didn't want. It was fine with the gate down though, and the two tie-downs from rear of bike to front of bed was slick and easy. The bike was extremely secure, even over bumps and at speed. GREAT product. |

Re: Baxley Sport Chock review
Just got my tracking number today. Looks like it will be here Tuesday which like bwhip will be one week from the order date.
I'll have the same issue with regards to the tailgate on the truck. I can close the tailgate with the bike in now. I don't think I'll be able to with the Baxley. I almost had an incident on the way home from the track last Monday. I was about half way home on I-20 when I hit a wavy section of the road. It's not rough hard edged bumps but a series of waves (I'm not sure how esle to describe it) that really got the truck bouncing. I looked back and noticed the handlebars of the bike starting to turn to one side. I pulled over and loosened everything up, straightened the bike and retied it down. I can't wait to get the chock so I won't have this problem anymore. |

Re: Baxley Sport Chock review
Can someone tell me exactly or as accurately as possible, how much distance
is lost if using this chock in the bed of a pickup? My bike fits in my bed with a few inches to spare to keep both tires in the bed. I would really like to get one of these but can't afford to lose much bed length. TIA |

Re: Baxley Sport Chock review
Thanks for measuring. I don't mind having the tailgate down I just don't want
to have the rear wheel resting on the tailgate. And if I get a Baxley chock my rear wheel might be. I will have to call them to see what their return policy is. I really like the idea of not having to compress my suspension when hauling my bike. |

Re: Baxley Sport Chock review
do you guys use the optional chock mount bolt kit?
just got my stand yesterday and i'm planning on putting the bike in the back of my Ram 1500 (with bed liner)... instructions say it should be ok w/o the mounting kit... just wanted to confirm. |

Re: Baxley Sport Chock review
I would still use tiedowns on the bike, whether or not you bolt the Baxley to the floor. If you don't want to drill through your truck bed, I've heard of folks bolting it to a big piece of plywood. Again, I'd still use tie downs.

Re: Baxley Sport Chock review
I've used mine in the back of my truck without any mounting hardware. works great. no more fiddling with getting the bike off the kickstand and getting it straight up when putting the straps on.
and as HGT was quicker on the draw you do still have to use tie downs either way you go
