Do you have any thing to do with that auction or did they steal that picture? Might add the handy stands work fine for me. |

I have nothing to do with the auction, they just happend to find a pic of my bike on the stands (which isn't hard to do). And sadly the pic is being hosted by Ebay so no fun porn swapping to do. I find my bike used in alot of Ebay stuff, forsale ads. I only ever say anything if it's being used in a scam or something looks shadey, which has also happend.

Re: is this a good deal on stands?
I'm also looking at getting a set of these. They seem pretty reasonable for the price. As long as they don’t give out or roll out too easy I could care less how they look. I just got my 929 about 2 months ago. I bought it used only had 1700 miles and came with an aria re-entry helmet, paid $6000.
Do I hear a group buy coming? As for hanging the bike. On my old F2 the rear shock was black and I hated it, I wanted to switch it out for a yellow one and a better spring. So I removed the seat and rear fairings and took an old tow row and tossed it over the garage rafters. Make sure to get at least 2 rafters to support the weight. I then used a jack and lifted the bike off the ground and tied it off. It sat like that over the entire winter with no harm to the garage or my bike. As long as the rafters are solid and span across the garage you can do this. I wouldn't trust 2x4 rafters, maybe at least 2x6's which mine were. Its actually quite nice because you can spin the bike around real easy when your working on it. The only down side is that you loose gription when you tighten bolts etc. it gets a bit squirrely and an extra hand is always helpful. Good luck. Last edited by tikki50; 11-17-2004 at 1:32 PM. |

Re: is this a good deal on stands?
My workshop is in my basement so it would hang from the floor joists which are 2x12s I believe. I've considered the issue of having a hard time when you need to tighten something. Guess that's what the wife is for... she's good at holding on while I push.
