I look at that website all the time. The worst wrecks on the net will show up on that website. If they made a www.wreckedoldasscars.com website Im sure your LeSabre would be right there. You only see the accidents that end up worse than usual.
Sorry Conq for the useless off topic post. I will try to cut down. Last edited by LITEITUP; 06-20-2007 at 8:32 PM. Reason: useless posting |

Re: Important info for those in the market for a helmet
Expensive helmets are not any safer than cheap helmets , it was a cheap helmet that did the best in the Motorcyclist test. Expensive helmets were much to stiff and hard to comply with the snell rating where cheap helmets did not bother. The advantage to wearing a good helmet comes from comfort weight ,airflow ,appearance and features. If you want an expensive and safe helmet the best ones have the euro rating not the snell.
The motorcyclist helmet test article is on their site ,it blew my mind that a 99$ helmet beat all the big money Arias and Suomy's. You can have either a quiet helmet or one with good airflow but not both. I think I have the best helmet on the market. The HJC AC12 Carbon Fibre. With any other label it would be a 1000$ helmet. It even came with a nice helmet bag not a sock and a free smoked shade. The airflow is great but it is noisy. I got the plain carbon fibre one and it looks killer. I feel like Darth Vader. The one negative I have heard is the clearcoat can be damaged. The best thing is how light and comfy it is. It is like wearing a hat. The only reason to spend more money is if you have an Aria shaped head. I live in the middle of no where so I have to buy most gear off the net so it was nice that my old cheapie helmet was an HJC so I knew it would fit and what size to get. Seriously I live in Prince Albert Saskatchawan ,it is closer to the north pole than a real race course. I liked some of the Shark's but I had heard about a guy waiting a whole season for a part. |

Re: Important info for those in the market for a helmet
I got my helmet new from $150. It's DOT and Snell stickered. It's light and well vented. It fits great and is very comfortable. It's a brand called GMax. I have no idea if they have a reputation but the owner of the shop I go to hooked me up on a dealer price. I compared it to some of the Shoies and Arais at the Wal-Mart of bikes here in town. I really can't tell much of a difference other than the price. I dunno, I'm definitely satisfied with my $150 helmet. I''m young too and I just couldnt ever see spending $600 on helmet just to see the cool brand name on the front.
