Re: Back Protectors

I have the Bohn ProRacer and really like it. One time I even came off the track because I couldn't feel it and thought I'd forgotten to put it on. It was on; I just forgot to fasten the velcro strap across the chest.

Re: Back Protectors

I use the Knox Pro Race, which covers the tailbone. Had it for a couple years, wear it for street and track. Never tested it.

That's exactly what I have. Comfortable enough, unobtrusive, and has held up well for ~25K.

Damn. Mine only cost about $100.

Kidding..

I have lowsided with mine on and now I will not ride without it. You can slide like a turtle. I made sure I was wearing it when I was measured for my new leathers.. It is long enough to cover my tailbone, as well.( they sell various sizes) A very good investment.

Re: Back Protectors

The Alpinestar Tech sounds great. Nice link too.

What site should I be looking at for purchase?

I am 5'10, so I guess the Medium is for me if you are 6' and the large needed an inch off.

Thanks.

Re: Back Protectors

I have a Dainese 'Nero'
I have only used it once so not sure whether I'm qualified to speak yet, but I found I was a bit stiff, but It was extremely cold weather and had snow on the side of the road, also it may have been something to do with my jacket being a bit tight with the back protector in place and the back padding in the jacket, may be next time I remnove the jacket padding when I have the protector in place.

One thing that did annoy me was the protector would push the back of my jocks down when i sat upright and when ever I got off the bike I was pulling them back up again.
