I wish we had a place here (Arkansas) that had any gear besides H/D stuff to try on. Most everything I buy has to be ordered so its hard to shop around for what feels the best. I do like the supertech boots. They fit beter than the J/R boots and they have better prtection.

Re: Joe Rocket Quality?

After seeing them in person at Road America (the JR transporter had a set of these, got to compare them side by side to Miguel's) I went ahead and ordered em. They look exactly like the "real ones" only without the speed hump, the stitching looked identical. These are actually heavier than my Dainese, and the build quality looks pretty damn good. I don't plan on doing traction testing with them, but they seem to be pretty well made, stitching doesn't look like the older JR stuff.

It was like Christmas when the UPS truck showed up

Re: Joe Rocket Quality?

I spent a while talking with Steve Rapp, Jordan Suzuki Team Rider, when he was here for the race at Infineon Raceway. They wear Joe Rocket gear. I'm sure they are custom fit, but the general construction and stitching was the same as my GP Moto jacket.

Really nice guy. Too bad the weather wasn't better that weekend.

Re: Joe Rocket Quality?

All "custom" Joe Rocket gear is made completely differently. It's made in Italy unlike the rest of the gear (which often says "Made in China").

Re: Joe Rocket Quality?

JR is my brand, crashed it once . It did the job. I got an Icon leather jacket and gloves for my b-day, have no comment on it yet due the fact i am deployed.

It's all relative.

I notice there are none of the low end brands like JR in there.

True. It was an overseas review though.

I like to stick by the mantra - "buy the best gear you can afford", which isn't always the most expensive.

People should do their homework and judge for themselves.

Yeah, but Italian peasants sew much better than Chinese peasants, right?

But, really you should just go custom. It's cheaper than you probably think.
To you guys putting down AGV:
Have you guys ever worn AGV? I bet not. I have crashed in the same suit at 70mph and 95mph and I still wear it. These were long tarmac slides. The only stitching that had a problem was the decorative stuff on my butt. (the suit's butt ).

Why put down a product that works as well as their competitors and usually is less money? If you have had some bad experience, post-up.

I have an AGV Modena and a Joe Rocket Speedmaster suit. The AGV fits much better on me (slim...ish). The quality on the AGV is good, and my friend with the same suit has successfully crashed tested it, but the armor and the overall quality of the JR is better. To be fair, my AGV is not near the top of their line. The JR stuff is for shorter, more ample figures. I am 5'10", 165 lbs, and the Speedmaster in a 40 is for someone about 5'7" 200 lbs. No joke. I need to get it altered. Wiry peeps keep that in mind when looking at JR.

Re: Joe Rocket Quality?

hmm interesting reading.

I have a Joe Rocket highside 2 piece suit that I got with my bike (it was on closeout and I got them to lower it an additional $250). So for $150 I feel its much better than having no leathers at all.

same ones as whoever this is has on. http://www.fireblades.org/gallery/sh...4&userid=10620

Re: Joe Rocket Quality?

Well, I just ordered my new top of the line A*s suit today. I ordered the GP gloves too. I thought I might as well get the best protection I could pay for. I got I good deal too.
