boot sizing? sidi, alpinestars, dainese.

Hi Everybody!!!

I'm looking to get Sidi boots and am wondering how they go as far as sizing.
I currently wear size 44 alpinestars, or 45 Dainese. My brother's 44 Oxtar TCS fit great too... i am not going for the RACE boot, more supersport/touring.

I know I could just stroll into a store and try em on but I'm not near anything.
Any help would be pucka

Re: boot sizing? sidi, alpinestars, dainese.

Hi,
I have some Oxtars TCS Evo's at the moment and find their fittings to be true to their stated size if you know what i mean. I have found these excellent, although other people have had trouble with them - i guess its a foot shape thing !

I was trying new boots recently and i found alpinestars are quite narrow and as such i would say you would need an extra half size.

As it was i went for some Daytona's (security evo) which while pricy are by far the best boots i have ever worn or tried on and would recomend them highly. www.daytona.de
They were also a genuine size.

I guess its just best to narrow your search down but i would recomend trying all of the boots you short list.

A top tip is to make sure they fit in the riding position and not just walking round the shop. Also i when i bought my oxtars i had to alter my rearsets as the boots were quite high at the toe.

anyway hope this helps and hope it wasnt too long winded !

although it doesn't answer the question of Sidi's sizing, it does give me some good pointers..

Re: boot sizing? sidi, alpinestars, dainese.

My husband had the Alpinestars S-MX Plus and it was a bit tight in the toe box. He moved to the Sidi's which have a wider toe box.

I agree to go to local shops and try them on. Its almost like helmet shopping everyone has a brand that fits them better.

New Enough is usually pretty good at describing how certain boots fit and they also provide a sizing chart. http://www.newenough.com/index2.htm

Their chart is pretty accurate. I ordered my Astars roam boots and my astars pants just by going off their sizing chart

I usually refer to their charts as well when I purchase something (even if I end up not buying from them).

You can also try emailing Sidi for help with sizing. I did when I bought a pair of Vertebras and they fit perfectly based on the size they recommended.
