Memorial Day

I hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend!

As we fire up our barbeques, enjoy the company of our friends and families in whatever manner we chose, let’s be mindful of the following while celebrating this holiday together.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the
VETERAN who
salutes the Flag.

It is the VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag.

God Bless them all!!!

From a Veteran to all of my Bothers-in-Arms who have selflessly served OUR Country and those currently serving . . . THANK YOU!!!

Much appreciated but like all the others who have gone before us, some who were not as fortunate as those of us still here today and who made the ultimate sacrifice . . . I considered it to be my duty to OUR Country so no individual thanks are necessary nor required!!!

Re: Memorial Day

However acknowledging ones service by saying “thank you” to those who served I feel is necessary for those of us who did not serve. As modest as some soldiers would like to be had it not been for their selfless service I shudder to think where this country may be. So to those who did serve and gave all Gods speed, you are in my prayers. For those who are able to celebrate with us, a tip of the hat and my heartfelt thanks!

Thank you for recognizing, honoring and respecting the service of those who paid the ultimate price as well as though who are still serving and we surviving Veterans.

On a forum I belive that a general thank you such as yours is most appropriate.

In public it's a different story, I thank every person I see in uniform while also shaking their hand.
