Use caution when removing shouldered screws!

Was trying something different today which I will post later however I ran into a problem while removing the floor screws. I was using a screwdriver and the screws were tight, very tight. Rounded out one then another, then I used the power drill and got the remaining bolts out. I will be applying loctite to the screws on install. Has anyone else had this problem?

Normal screw

Drilling out

Got the top of the bolt off

whats left

Bolt removed

I found the same thing when getting at the oil filter. I ended up using a cordless impact wrench to get them out and a screw driver when putting them back in.

My question is why were you taking out the floor bolts???

Got an idea to improve our oil change experience. I will post more when I get it done.

Great and I just finished changing the oil Saturday mourning. I looked at cutting a section of the skid plate out and welding tabs to it to make life easier. But I didn't like the idea of cutting the skid plate so I held off.
