Big Red Brakes

My brakes were squeeking and brought it to the Honda shop. They told me that some squeek and some do not. However, they pulled the tires and checked the brakes and the front were metal to metal. Back were almost metal to metal. The interesting thing is that my unit has only 322 miles on it. I ride through some mud and trail ride on my property. Has anyone had any brake wearing out this fast. Oh yes, it was $344 to replace them. That is just over a $1 per mile.

Re: Big Red Brakes

I went out and checked mine and they are fine. I have 235 miles on the clock. I run through a stream every time I leave the house and have stuck it bad three times now.

Re: Big Red Brakes

I have 2000Km (1553 MIles) on mine and the breaks still seem to be in good shape. I hope this is a defective set and that you get them replace under warranty. Funny though you would have all 4 corners go like that though.

Re: Big Red Brakes

When I owned a CR250 I would go through pads pretty quickly if I played int he mud and wasn't diligent about cleaning the pads and rotors off. I haven't looked but are there any companies offering pads for the BR yet? Did they just change pads or did they put new rotors on as well? $344 for brakes seams a little high to me but i've never bought Honda pads so maybe they go for some outragious price and they got you for a couple of hours of labor. Just one more reason do the work myself.
