How to make it quieter?

Has anyone changed the exhaust system to make it quieter? After adding the top, doors, wind shield, etc., I have a big problem with the noise of the motor.

Re: How to make it quieter?

You are right it is noisy, after all day out my ears are tired . I think it's just a symptom of a large single cylinder motor.

Re: How to make it quieter?

Koplin, Flowmaster and several others have started making aftermarket secondary exhaust that you add after the stock exhaust that cuts noise by 50%.

Re: How to make it quieter?

YES, go to a plumbing store, Lowes & Home Depot will not have, get a One inch 45', or street L it is called. copper
Get a Reducer 1 1/2 x 1 copper
Get a piece of 1 1/2" copper tube
connect the three to muffler, use a U clamp to hold pipe to frame.
This extends exhaust & noise out past end of Big Red. No longer need ear muffs

Re: How to make it quieter?

NOW, how do you reduce, stop, the wind, dust, dirt, cold, etc. coming up between the back of seat & dump bed hitting the back of your neck/head WITHOUT going to a Full cab enclosure ?

Re: How to make it quieter?

The 1 1/2" copper piping as explained before, extends the exhaust & exhaust noise out past the bed...... works as good as Koplin, Flowmaster at about 1/5 the price.
I've heard people not happy with the results of Koplin, Flowmaster...

Engine noise is another matter ...... insulation, insulation as the plastic body make it like a drum
