HighLifter Springs Installed

I installed my HighLifter Springs yesterday. Raised the front 1" and the rear 1 3/4". Left sway bar connected and have not test ridden yet. You will need the correct spring compressor to do this as the springs are to small for a car type. I ended up taking my struts to the ATV shop and they changed the springs for $50.00.

Re: HighLifter Springs Installed

Let us know how they work out. Do you have a lift kit in yours or are you only using the springs for lift.

I also found that removing the rear sway bar from the bike made a huge difference in 2wd traction and the overall ride of the bike. The bike even has the same fell going round corners at speed.

Re: HighLifter Springs Installed

I do not have the lift kit, but with all the extra weight from the Winch, safety glass windshield, tool box, extra battery, rear window and other adds I wanted the added lift from the heaver springs.

Re: HighLifter Springs Installed

Rode yesterday and am very happy with the new HL springs. Ride is near the same as stock but BR doesn't bottom out anymore.

First hard ride after installation of the springs.....wow what a difference! Never bottomed out! I would HIGHLY recommend them for every BR!

Re: HighLifter Springs Installed

Well....put the springs thru the ultimate test today, everyone SHOULD install these!!!! Went to the Appleton MN off road park today and put the BR over many jumps, hills, log climbs, pipe climbs and rock crawling and NEVER bottomed out!!! Cannot say enough about these springs!!!!!!

Re: HighLifter Springs Installed

Hey guys, how about sharing your installation process, like how you compress the springs for those who don't have an ATV shop nearby. Also, part number and best buy info would be appreciated as well.

Update: I found the answer to my question in an earlier thread on this subject. Most people are compressing the springs with an automobile spring compressor and might be able to rent one from an auto parts store. Now to find the lowest price for these springs.

Re: HighLifter Springs Installed

The spring compressor I have was too big so I improvised, I used a screwdriver on one end (thru the shock bushing) and then used a ratchet strap wrapped around the screwdriver and the spring and compressed it that way. This works but you must be careful!!!! I was in too big of a hurry to use the right tools!
