Wind Sheilds

Hi.
I am a new Big Red owner (2 months). I bought her a hard top a speed and hour meter and an under hood storage box. So far I love her. (Except she doesn't start in cold weather too well.)

I am contemplating a wind shield. I have ridden in a polaris UTV with a half wind shield. The owner blocked it up about 7 inches as it was too low and was blowing wind right in his face. The new height was perfect, you could see above it yet no wind in the face. I like the idea of the half wind shield as you still feel like you are outdoors, and don't have the frost issue.

How are the Big Red half Wind shields?

Re: Wind Sheilds

I have the Honda 3/4 flip-out, 1/4 fixed position windshield. Overall I am satisfied. Air flow is marginally good when it is opened. It is very easy to completely remove the top 3/4 section for hot days. It travels well on the trailer (no worries about wind blowing it out, even at 65 mph). I have found no combination however where it helps solve the dust problem.

Re: Wind Sheilds

I too have the Honda two peice winsheild. My opinon save the money and go with a one peice.

* Air flow is minimal through the split when opened.
* More air flow between the hood and windsheild on both sides with the two peice.
* Rattling of the two peices design of the windsheild is enough to drive someone crazy

Just my 2 cents.

Re: Wind Sheilds

I have the two piece also and it is just as tbear stated, alot of noise but the worst thing I can fine about the windshield is the dust that will come with it when you install it. Get ready to be dusted out when you go down a dusty dirt road.
