Aftermarket CDI Box

Does anyone know if anyone makes an aftermarket CDI for a Big Red? I have a 2009 and I am looking for some more top end.

I am having a Cobra FI2000 installed on mine along with the Big Gun Evo exhaust. Also, removing the spark arrester cage in the air box. Dealer says with all this, I should gaing about 10-15 more horsepower as well as significant torque gains.

Itgene, I should be getting it back from the dealer this week. Will post results after I take it out.

Picked up my br from the dealer this morning. The pipe and the fuel programmer definately made a difference throughout the entire powerband. Feels like I have more torque and gets up to top speed much faster even with the 28 inch tires. Very happy!

Any pictures of the mods. Would really like to see the exhaust setup. Any notice in the exhaust sound or loudness?

I can post some pics later. The exhaust is louder than stock. The pipe comes with a silencer that helps a bit. If you get the Big Gun Evo, make sure you tell them you want the "down turn tip" otherwise the heat from the exhaust will melt your tail light!

10-15 horsepower seems extreme seeing the 680 only produces about 28 hourses. what type of tires are you running? also i thought the spark arrestor is a screen in the muffler that prevents sparks from flying out that may cause a fire.

Yes I'm curious about what the dealer removed from the air intake myself? The spark arrestor that I know of is in the exhaust also.

there is a type of cage inside the filter that helps it keep its shape. perhaps this is what he is talking about. be careful with your aftermarket air filters. i have rebuilt one engine already.

be sure to recharge the air filter with oil also. my br was only six months old an got a new motor for that one reason

what i have is the dynojet power commander 3 or PCIII. it is made for the rincon, but is by no means a stock replacement. it is a performance upgrade. but now dynojet is pushing the PCV which is able to work in conjunction with a real time tuner you weld to an 02 bung on you header pipe. it is quite a bit more expensive but takes the guess work out of tuning. i think i paid around $200 on ebay, but that was a good deal. if you go to their site and look at 2009 rincon they dont even show the pc3 anymore as an option. but myself and others are running it for almost 2 years now with no problems.

i dont have any experience with other programmers, but from everything i read this has to be the most popular and therefore in my mind one of the best to have such a following. i installed and programmed from my laptop. it was fairly straight forward and between easy to moderate difficulty.

what i was wanting to know is if the pcIII will raise the rev limiter. Thats what im trying to figur out if the ECU from a rincon will do this or what. My local dealer told me that there is nothing like that avaliable for the br and that the power commander for a rincon 680 would not work on my br

you dealer is dead wrong. do a search xtremerancher02 is also running a pc3. it will not remove the limiter and i do not no of any product that will.
