My first dirt bike. I'll have to look through all photos to see if I can find an ACTUAL picture to scan, but just seeing this pic brings back memories.

I had pretty much that same bike in 1978 - first bike. Mine was 2 stroke but it had an oil injector so you didn't have to pre-mix.

Re: I had forgotten what it looked like...

This was my first real motorcycle (had mini-bikes before this).

Kawasaki KE100

Mine was orange. Saw one at the International M/C show a couple of years ago and I'd swear that they hadn't changed. I noticed that Kawasaki doesn't list this bike on their web site anymore.

Re: I had forgotten what it looked like...

I ought to scan a pic, but here's one of my first "real" bike. A 1983 YZ80. The first "water pumper" YZ 80. Actually a great little bike.

One of my riding buddies from my YZ80 days had one of those. Indestructable bike. Which wasn't necessarily a good thing cuz they sure didn't perform too great compared to our 80's.

Hell, I was old in 72. I ran Willi Bauer's 69 square barrel in 1970. I was older than anyone on the entire European Maico team during the first and second rounds of the Trans AM series.

Interestingly, my brother in law still owns both of those bikes and finished second overall a few years back in the AHRMA US Championship open class on 03 (the bike in the link).

Re: I had forgotten what it looked like...

This was my first dirt bike - musta had 6 or 7 HP Actually I had a Triumph 200cc mountain cub earlier, if you call that a dirt bike. My first actual MX bike was an American Eagle (125cc Zundapp engine).

Abtech, I used to race a 400cc Maico even older than yours - a 1970 "square barrel"

Read the post directly above yours. Mine was the 70' prototype (and my second Maico, the first was a 360 from 67').
