I have an (now) old Nikon CoolPix 990 - with it I can position the lens 1 cm from the subject - able to fill a frame with a mosquito. I just had to have this camera soon after it was released and paid $800 for it (originally sold for a cool $1K). Still happy with it, other than not being able to upgrade to faster flash memory And the lag thing...

The macro ability is more related to the lens than it is to the camera. The 10D being a digital SLR (just like a normal 35mm SLR) uses interchangeable lenses. So if you want macro, you go get a macro specific lens of simply buy a zoom with macro ability. The 10D will work with any Canon mount-style lens.. ie: lots of options.

Sweet pics and an even sweeter camera. Man you have all the cool toys!!! Also, I especially like the Black RC in the one gallary. I think I might have a new project for the 929 after she meets the asphalt. It that yours or someone elses?

edit: Ooops, just saw the comment about that being Venom's RC.

Yup, that's Venom's RC...It looked much nicer in person. Whoever did that paint did an excellent job.

Ah, right - I sorta forgot about the digital SLR toys available now. Definitely the way to go, digitally speaking. And to think after owning Canon gear for over 2 decades, a few years ago I sold all my manual chit and decided to try Nikon auto focus SLR (N80). Maybe all my old Canon lenses wouldn't have done the job anyway .

Your older Canon stuff would have worked with all of the Canon D-SLR's except for the Rebel.

Re: Check these pics out...

Thanks for cheering me up nhf . I sold 2 T90 bodies, 50mm macro, 200mm macro, and about a half dozen other lenses plus a lot of other accessories . Good part is, on eBay I got about 2/3 original price of all the equipment that was 10-15 years old! I am, as of today, saving my pennies for a digital SLR!!
