Quite the candy store. I had a hard time pulling myself away from the Tamburini they had.

There's a boutique-style store here that has done really well with euro bikes... Ducati, Aprilia, Husaberg, etc. But you'll rarely see that stuff sold alongside Japanese bikes. www.revoluzione.com

They're actually doing a group trip to Laguna this year for USGP... I'm gonna go sit in on the info session next week, you know, just out of curiosity.

That's what ours is as well. Mainly Ducati and Aprilia, but they do MV and others as well. One of the best mechanics I have ever met, and one of the fastest riders I know is the sales manager. LTL, you may have heard of him since you know Ricky Orlando, his name is Shane Turpin.
Anyway, I'll be checking with them to see if the limited thing is the case and how likely it is that I won't get one.

ATK? Aren't they generally regarded as being shitboxes?

Holy chit! A 2 stroke making 26 HP at 1200 rpm! And only getting 6 mpg! Amazing.

At least he admitted it, from that article:

Quote:
Obviously, lots of gas is wasted as it passes through the combustion chamber. Maybe that’s just nature’s way of telling us that perhaps a 760 single doesn’t make much sense.
It has to be one of the most inefficient engines ever bolted in a bike.

I used to love reading Sieman's rants against 80's and 125's in Dirt Bike when I was a kid though. Funny stuff.

The test of the ATK Intimidator I posted above was also penned by Sieman.

Ya, I used to love his colums in the dirt rags in the late 80's. I remember one great one where after the BLM axed the Barstow to Vegas race, him and a couple others ran a "protest" race. They followed them in choppers and finaly got them at their first fuel stop

Rick Sieman was hilarious - his column in Dirtbike was called Superchunk or something, wasn't it?

Two strokes are dead for motocross - they just can't compete.

The AMA needs to up the displacement limit for two-strokes, four-stroke technology has come a long way, they need to even the playing field again. That'd be awesome to see a line up of 250's punched out to 300 or so

It might happen. The "125's" are allowed to go 2mm over and become 144s this year.

I agree. I guess the only reason thumpers have taken over is because they're twice the displacement. I loved two strokes more than anyone, but once I rode a modern fourstroke I had to convert - they are just so easy to ride.

I converted to 4-stroke, then converted back, there's just nothing like a big bore 2-stroke, they are so easy to ride, and the power is always there, that, and my ole 96 CR can get a green sticker

Did ATK buy the Cannondale line? All those 450 quads and bikes on the ATK page look like the old C'dales.

On a tight motocross track with huge jumps? I had a 97 KX500 - it was fun across blasting across a cornfield but for MX it was just too much for me ... but maybe I'm just a pussy!
