Update
So after work on Friday I got home and was ready to tear into the CRF and see what damage I did. Pulled the front number plate, fender, bars and bar mounts off. The fender is back to normal after applying a little heat to it. The bars are fine, thank the lord as they are brand new Pro Tapers. The rubber grommets that the bar mounts go through had pulled into the tripple tree and after loosening the bolts were as good as new. I put it all back together and checked my throttle tube, which is also fine. All in all I am very pleased how rugged the baby thumper is. I went to the track around 7pm and rode the best I have yet, what a blast. They ended up totally changing the layout of the track and it's alot more technical now. Lots of semi-flat corners that required a bunch of throttle control, glad I ride a 954 and got accustomed to throttle control. Now I have a bit more seat time and am able to clear the 60+ foot finish jump and the 70 foot camels back. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Gonna have to get some pics of me now that I can actually get some air. I have a few of me when I had been on the thing for a few weeks, but lately I have been getting better by leaps and bounds. Dano |

Re: It was bound to happen...
Not to add fuel to the quad/bike fire, but...
I have nothing personal against quads per se, but as a motocross (bike) guy, I will say that most of my experiences with dumbasses on a motocross track during an open practice have been guys on quads-it seems like most of the really slow ones try anything to get in front of you, then think they are "beating" you because they can stay in front. The only reason that they can is because they take up most of the track, and if I used my normal technique for someone who gets in my way (pick the first berm and demonstrate what happens when my rear wheel clips their front), I would lose due to them having 4 wheels and approximately 100 pounds on me. While I will say I have seen a few quad riders who earned my respect, they are the exception. If someone wants to ride a quad, I don't assume that they are weak or an idiot just because quads do nothing for me personally, but if they act like an idiot, I do have a problem with it-of course, that applies to some morons on bikes too-especially those who charge up the face of a jump and then grab the binders when you're committed...
