I hate 2 strokes.

In my experience, I was a 2 stroke guy period. Never road anything but and I talked smack to those who joined the thumper bandwagon in motocross. Last Oct, I got on my first thumper, an 05 CRF 250R and let me tell you, I will never kick over another smoker again. Idle to the 13000 RPM redline is socket wrenching tq and the power on the top end doesn't even come close to falling off. Mods? FMF Factory 4 titanium system, FMF jet kit changing needle profile and dropping the main from a 172 to a 154 and adjusting the air screw and a Twin air filter. The only 2 stroke 125 that would come close on the track was simply due to rider ability. If you are like me and some of my friends, we sell in the off season and buy new when spring hits so the maintenance is never an issue either. The 2 strokes simply can't compete any more and there is a reason for that, all of the technology is now being thrown into the thumper side of MX.

BS. Lets compare apples to apples and quit comparing 4 strokes with twice the displacement to 2 strokes. Pound per pound, you will never make a 4 stroke more porwefull as an equiventaly sized 2 stroke in the same state of tune. Correct me if I'm wrong buts isnt a cr250 around 50 hp and 30 foot/lbs torque while the crf250 is like 29hp, 18 foot/lbs???
