Changed a boot

I tore a boot at a whopping 7 miles on my BR. I fixed it to get by for this past month. I ordered two moose brand boot kits. Pulling the axle was very easy (im use to tugging on the Arctic Cat axles!).

I am not sure if anybody else has used the moose brand boots, but these felt kinda cheap. I guess I am comparing to boots on older atvs. My old Yamaha Wolverine and my dads Kodiak are 97 models and still have the factory boots; they have not dry rotted yet.

Anyway, I was impressed with the ease of changing the boot and pulling the axle. Took about 30 minutes total for the entire job.

Re: Changed a boot

I just changed a front inner boot yesterday using the same Moose boot kit. The boot did seem a little bit flimsy but for what you get and the price you pay I would say it was worth it. It was very easy to do like you said.

Re: Changed a boot

I was looking for these boots at the Moose sight and didn't see Big Red listed, could it be you using boots that go on a Rincon, are am I just not looking in the right place. I haven't had any problems with mine, but just looking for the future if I screw up and tear one.

Get the "Fast-Boot II, upc label number was 0213-0427"

Get the axle grease from your dealer, I personally do not like to mix two different greases. I got mine off of amazon.

Sorry, there was not any more information on the box. I bought two, comes with the boot, cheap grease and the axle straps.

Re: Changed a boot

I got mine off Ebay but it was the same kit. It looks like a general type of kit because once installed I had to trim some off the outer side of the shaft. I just added the grease to whatever was left.
