Need Inner Fender Protectors

I was out on a trail last weekend with my '10 Big Red. I bought all the protectors Honda makes: bottom skid plates, side rock slider bars and A-frame protectors. I know genuine Honda is expensive, but my local dealer gave 20% discount since machine was purchased there. The parts fit well and came with all hardware.
I have Highlifter springs plus a 2" lift and run 27" tires on 14" wheels, so I thought I was ready for anything.
Wrong.
I was doing well until I hooked a tree at dusk with the left side of my machine. It was lying next to the trail and it caught inside the frame tube- just in front of the left door, above the lower hinge. It went through the floor, between my legs, and poked into the engine compartment below the emergency brake lever.
I now know that is where the coolant lines and the oil cooler lines are. Lost all coolant in about 30 seconds. Shut it down & got towed out.
I see DG makes a nice inner fender guard & I just helped a friend put them on his Rhino.
I need something like that for Big Red to protect floor/lower firewall area behind the front wheels.

I had a branch flick up and hit the floor under the door and came up through but nothing like what you mentioned. I have thought about in fenders as well but it was more about keeping mud and snow from building up in the front end of the bike. I have not seen anything yet for the Big red and have looked at making something up but just haven't had the time.

I feel your pain! i had 7 miles on mine, coming out of a low area on a skinny trail. I freak dead tree kicked up as I was bragging on my BR to my brother when it came to a stop. The root side of the tree pushed between my upper and lower control arms, driver side rear, and punched my cv boot and my emergency brake cable. I was pissed. I was going almost 2mph when this happened. I have cv protectors I ordered which should be here soon as well as some cv boots! I really felt that Honda should have put some kind of axle/boot protector on the rear.

Luckily my insurance guy suggested I get full coverage as I was only going to get theft. Only cost $110.00 for 6 months. Was well worth it as the tab for the tree through everything was just over $2900.00. Ouch!

Just dropped it off at local welder this morning so he can fabricate some inner fender protectors like DG makes for the Rhino's.

Just got machine back & inner fender protectors look good. No more sticks coming through near my vital parts.

Can be easily removed & lay very close to original inner fender so little wheel/tire clearance is lost.

$300.00 for set, but I think it was fair price for custom work.
