'09 with '11 bed capacity?
I see that for the 2011 model year that the bed and towing capacities have been increased. I'm guessing that this has something to do with the spring/shock set-up as the rest of the bike looks pretty much the same (minus the seating). Has anyone tried to upgrade theirs to increase the load abilities?

Yes I installed HighLifter Springs on all 4 corners and it increased the capacity dramatically, I don't know the exact weight but it never bottoms out any more. Well worth the money!!!
