Big Red Bent Front Arm Mount

I bent the mount on the frame that the wheel arm attaches to. The dealer is wanting to replace entire frame for $7,000+. The dealer says, no welder will touch due to liability issues.

I am kinda disappointed that a small piece is bent and the entire machine is scrap. The frame itself is fine, just the mount.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any Suggestions?

I'm thinking I could bend the mount just right to replace the arm.

I would talk to a welder. Chances are it's Chromoly steel, a good welder can weld it without a problem, they usually TIG weld it.

While I can offer nothing but condolences, I must say this sounds like some of the unbelievable delimmas that I always seem to face. Good luck

I don't know how bad your frame is but if someone goes about it right it can be trued up and made stronger than it was, but it may cost a bit. There have been enough of these sold now that there should be some junked out from fire, vandals, ran under water and not serviced etc. Might need to shop for one.

BTW, how much of a thump did it get? Hit a stump or something?

I didn't hit anything

All I did is jumped off a hill that is only 3 feet high. I didn't flip it nor turn in any awkward way. And the front arm broke in two. I am becoming suspension that it may have been damaged before. I was only jumped three feet off the ground, and I have done the same thing in my Yamaha Grizzly and my John Deere Gator.

I am in the process of trying to find a welder. The dealer says no one will touch it due to reliability issues.

Re: Big Red Bent Front Arm Mount

"Unbelieveable" is winterizing my Harley and while fogging the engine, having the plastic spray stem blow off into the cylinder making for a extremely difficult retrieve through the spark plug hole...
Just one of a hundred things that seem to happen to me
