Wolf Pen Gap

I just returned from a 3 day ride on the wolf pen gap trail system outside Mena, Arkansas in the Ouchita Mountains. I was super pleased with the performance of the BR... It rained the first two days so the trails were sloppy and had NO DUST! I took some scratches but the size was not the problem I was concerned about. Olivecrossbones would be proud of me... I spent 3 hours getting my BR back to showroom clean! I now know I need a rear view mirror and a slim 4 gallon gas tank before my next trip to wolf pen.

Can a 2011 with BR make it at wolf pen with factory tires and no winch. Looks like fun, also nice BR you have there!

Re: Wolf Pen Gap

I'm on the same maxis tire just a 27" instead of a 25".... Yes... I never needed my winch... I would say it's a must! I rode close to 200 miles.

Re: Wolf Pen Gap

Almost 2 tanks. I was very impressed by the milage b/c I was riding pretty hard... I will be there first or second weekend in march also.... We may have a big red take over that week. The owner of the atv campground told me mine was the first Honda side by side at his place.

Re: Wolf Pen Gap

After 1 year of trail use, I can highly recommend the Rotopax gas can system. They are thin, easy to mount, breakdown into 2 gallon units (I carry 2), and perform as advertised. While they are pricey and require additional pricey parts to mount and lock, they are well constructed and install easily. I mounted mine in an upright position along the back wall of the dump box of the Hippo. As the price of gas approaches $4.00, the next problem will be being able to afford to fill them.

Re: Wolf Pen Gap

Since I am a former Ragin' Cajun I will tell you that the best place is wolf pen gap atv campgrounds. Look up their website... If you are looking for a cabin you need to call them soon. They are good people and will help you get familiar with the trails..... Geaux Cajuns!

I will be there on march 7 and 8. First time , not sure what to expect. I have put several hundred miles on the harley enjoying the beautiful scenery and also caught some big stripped bass in Lake Quatachita. I love arkansas !!

Re: Wolf Pen Gap

I covered every trail but 8 and the short leg that connects 8 to 6 (836) only did the one most difficult on 4 but it made it ok. I won't lie it was scary as hell but it made it next time i plan to cover what i didn't this time on big red but without my wife and daughter on it with me

I did them all even the whole #8... it was way scary... I'll never do it again just because I don't like denting and scratching something I have invested 15k cash in..... It can handle the whole trail system... Just ask the ryno punk that called me out then broke a belt at the top of 836.... I'm heading back June 13th and can't wait!!!!
