Any replacement tires true to size?

Do any of the manufacture's out there have tires true to size? If we check the tire specs can we trust that information is correct? Read on PLEASE.
My buddy just replaced his tires with the same size tires. After mounting and installing them he found they are 1 1/2" shorter. He is not a happy camper and was contacting the seller today.

Re: Any replacement tires true to size?

Not sure what mine are but even the stock tires don't measure 25" like advertised. It would be nice if they had and industry standard way of measuring them though.

Re: Any replacement tires true to size?

I agree, I called one tire vendor and they told me the height depends on the air pressure. I laughed and said thank you. I think I will go out and see what the BR looks like with 26" tires.................Bang Oh Oh tire exploded. LOL

Re: Any replacement tires true to size?

I put on some 27" Mudlite XTR's which raised me up 1.5" over the stock tires, which are 25" tires. Seem to be a good fit.

Re: Any replacement tires true to size?

After riding my bike pretty hard for the last year and a half I have noticed that the springs have lost some of there lift. As a result my bigger tires now have me riding at the same height as the stock tires when the bike was new. So it looks like new springs are in order in the spring.

Re: Any replacement tires true to size?

I changed out my springs with the ones from High Lifter and am happy with them so far. They raised the machine about 1".

Re: Any replacement tires true to size?

I started stock with about 10" of ground clearance measured at the rocker both front & rear. 27" Mudlite XTR's on 14" wheels put me at 11.5 inches. I did the High Lift Springs and their "up to 2" lift kit" which brought me up to 14" at the rear and 13.5" at the front. Seems to be a good combination - does not look like the C/V joints & axle angles should be too stressed.
