do you know whats invovled in hooking 2 standard lights up instead of having just the 1 on? thanks

It wouldn't be too hard. I'm guessing you want both on for high beams. You could hook in a relay to your high beam wires that powers your low beam with your high beam, but not vice versa.

I think manufacturers do this to minimize electrical load on the tiny charging system. If you do a lot of city riding(ie-always at stoplights, extended idling, low speed riding) this might not be a good idea. If you need more light at night, put in an HID kit. I did, and got 3 times the light for 20 less watts on my charging system. I looked cool also.
