Re: Best Buy/Performance in Communication?

Wait a minute, are we talking two people on one bike, or two people on two bikes?

If we're talking two people on one bike, then yes, chatterbox's system (can't remember the name) should do the job. The module retails for about 75 bucks, and the headsets to go with it for about 35 to 40 bucks each, so that would be right around your budget there. The headsets are sold separately because they make different ones for full-face helmets vs. open-face helmets.

Now, if we're talking two people on two bikes, that's gonna be a little trickier. Unfortunately, for that amount of cash, I think the only way you're gonna be able to get the job done will be to buy a set of cobra/bell/motorola/otherbrand handheld FRS radios/walkie-talkies and equip each of them with a helmet headset. I've seen handheld radio sets going for anywhere from $30 to $100 depending on the brand and features. Then the headsets go for anywhere from $40 to $60 from what I've seen so far. So, depending on where you buy them, you should be able to come in under $150 bucks still.

These are great ones, have been reviewed by lots of people and almost always get good marks, but a little out of the price range ~$300 for 2 sets on ebay. Might want to check out ebay for some cheaper ones.
