Re: Portable DVR
Keep in mind whatever you're playing it on and how you're playing it back. If it's coming back through a regular TV, whatever the source, you're getting no more than 480 lines. If you're making DVD's and running through a complete system that supports it, you could be up to the full DVD res.

Re: Portable DVR
I am not sure what a full system would consist of. But I was planning on running the 580 TVL (onbike.tv)cam through an Archos AV420 and then either downloaded onto my computer for editing or straight to a DVD burner.

Re: Portable DVR
I record to a Sony DV camcorder (can't remember the model) and edit on my Mac. Not sure the Sony's model but it is the lowest $$ mini-dv that has a LANC connection (remote switching) I preferred my Canon as the Sony is a bit flaky in VCR mode but the new Canons lack a LANC port. On the Mac I generally use iMovie and iDVD as I am lazy but also have Final Cut Express.
