Looking at this topic I find it interesting. The Heaters listed above are only for single directional blowing, ie out the front, I believe.
Ranger Ware (
Polaris Ranger Cab Systems for Crew, Ranger XP Roofs, Windshields and Doors RangerWare Grand Rapids, MN (888) 927-9722 ) makes directional heaters for the Polaris Rangers & RZRs.
My dad has a Ranger 6x6 with the Ranger Ware heater that you can adjust just like a car heater, he has defrost and floor. It is a really nice sytem that also ties into your cooling system.
I think I would really think about adapting one of those systems to the Big Red. I mean what would you really need to do to make one work? Mounting Brackets, and rerouting the ducts differently, possibly longer ducting and coolent lines?
His system is a older one then this one but you get the gist:
WPS-104 - Heater System
(Fits Series 10 – 2008 500 & 700 & 2009 Crew & 6X6)
The Heater consists of a high output two-speed fan with two directional outlets in the side kick panel foot well area, and one defroster outlet mounted in the dash. The rest of the heater components are mounted under the hood, out of sight and do not take any space away from the passenger area. This is as close to an OEM installation as possible. It fits all 500 and 700XP Series machines 2008 and older and comes complete with installation kit and instructions.

It is pricy and $460 but since it is Ranger Ware you can get it thru a Polaris dealer now.
Not sure anyone would want to drop that kind of cash on a system and "Hope it works" but it apprears, to me, to be a better system if you could get it to work.
