I started with all my dirtbikes on full hard, then just hit the bumps and see what is too hard. Sounds primitive but it works.

No manual? My CRF came with a ton of suggestions, tried them and still went to full hard, came back 2 clicks on the forks otherwise that's it. I ride mostly tight rocky trails up in Connecticut.
